Spring 2026
Sunday, March 8. In celebration of International Women’s Day and on the heels of February’s Library Lovers Month, Karen releases her new song “Packhorse Librarian,” available now for purchase and online listening here , as well as via popular streaming platforms. This story song honors the history and legacy of the Packhorse Library Project, which, under Eleanor Roosevelt’s advocacy, became part of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal during the Great Depression. Eleanor’s commitment to literacy was legendary. She used her platform to help educate under-served communities, and the Packhorse Library Project was one powerful example. She believed wholeheartedly that empowering women to support one another, their children, and their communities leads to lasting success.

"I love what the Recovery Café is bringing to our world - an understanding that a lack of community is the root of the addiction epidemic, and a trusted model to fix that. We all benefit from living together in a healthy, mutually-supporting society."
